Notes
Love is more than just hearts and flowers; it is an intense feeling of deep affection. I have always been interested in the old time way of love, writing letters using the old ink pen, writing love songs and roses. I decided to do this drawing “Love Note” which depicts the story of a man who shows deep love to his wife through a written love song. He uses an old ink "fountain" pen and a rose for inspiration.

BIOGRAPHY

Canita N.N. Ruan has had a love for art from a very young age. Her parents believe, that children should be well rounded and so exposed her to many experiences including music and art.  However, art was her passion. Realizing this, her parents invested in art supplies and in sending her to many visual art classes, where she was tutored by Mrs. Yasmini Lloyd, Mr. Dervin Leiba and finally Mr. Jose Juan Romero.  Her love for painting motivated her to enter various art competitions, where she was awarded top prizes for most; among them her 10 year old view of Anguilla’s Moonsplash.  These opportunities inspired her to further her skills in art at CSEC and CAPE level Examinations where she excelled.  In February 2012, while a 6th Form Student, she enrolled as an apprentice at Ani Art Academies Anguilla to further enhance her drawing and painting skills.  Through this experience Canita aspires to portray art at a different level in Anguilla, especially with the hope of representing and preserving the beauty of her beautiful island through her paintings.  At present Canita uses her skills in her own face painting business and eventually hopes to become an event planner and a tattoo artist.
