“Anhelo” literally translates from Spanish as longing or desire. The figure’s simple and understated pose conveys a command over her sexuality and femininity. She has her back towards the viewer and is seemingly detached, gazing dreamily out of the window. Her backlit stance draws the eye to the light pouring in, and to the interlocking folds of drapery on the bed, suggesting a world beyond the room which she inhabits.

Ricardo grew up in Jersey City, NJ and realized his affection for the arts at a very early age. In high school this developed into a life-long obsession as he was exposed to figurative art. Ricardo has studied at New Jersey City University as well as duCret School of Art. He was then referred to Jahn Studios by former art teacher Monica Baumann and other students. In November of 2009 he enrolled in an apprenticeship under Timothy Jahn to realize his goal of becoming a representational artist.
