I find it fascinating how the light spills over their sails and how the water reflects on the hulls. I love these intimate portraits because they capture the flowers character and grace. A menuet is a very old dance of French origin. It is derived from the French word menu (small) and refers to the steps of the dance. I named this painting "A Menuet" because of the geranium's graceful movement and delicate lyrical notes of color.
